    Fall fund drive produces record totals for WVTF , article

    The drive brought in more than $580,000 to help the network of public radio stations operated by Virginia Tech with operational costs and programming. More than 2,000 people made contributions and of those, roughly 650 were first-time donors – a record.

    WVTF helps bring community radio to Northwest Roanoke , article

    Radio Melrose, focused on community programming for Roanoke's Northwest Roanoke neighborhoods, resulted from an agreement between WVTF Public Radio and the station’s executive director, David S. Points, a retired U.S. Navy commander and former Michigan state legislator who owns WJFX (FOX) AM radio in Roanoke.

    For the third year in a row, WVTF Radio IQ has been recognized for “Overall Excellence” for its local news reporting. The Edward R. Murrow Award was given by the Radio Television Digital News Association.
